CSI: Nursery Town – an Easter 100-word drabble

CSI: Nursery Town

Easter. The city. Detective Al Bumen arrived at the crime scene and saw the victim splattered over the sidewalk. “What do we got?”

“The DB’s a big egg called Humpty Dumpty. Looks like a suicide off that high wall, sir.”

“Nasty.”

“All the king’s men ain’t putting him back together. The CSIs are collecting shell fragments for montaging at the lab. Can you crack the case, sir?”

Detective Bumen studied the area, looking up at the wall, shaking his head. “Ain’t suicide. Trajectory’s all wrong. There’s a race today. We’re looking for a giant kid with a massive empty spoon.”
